About Me

Hi! My name is Reverea (Vera for short), and I’ve been a maker just about my entire life. What started originally as taking apart every electronic device I could get my hands on has transformed into lifelong love of project-based learning and passion projects. I love my projects.

This journey has led me to pursue a bachelors in Electrical Engineering with Honors from the University of Central Florida, where I’ve been learning why what I do in my projects actually works.

Outside of my electronic projects, I love to hike and operate Ham Radio outdoors. I am also currently in the process of getting my Private Pilot’s License, learning Brazilian Portuguese, and refining my fluency in American Sign Language. I enjoy film photography as a hobby, and love to touch every step of the process, from taking the photo to developing my film at home.

I also ride Electric Unicycles (EUCs) and am passionate about Personal Electric Vehicle (PEV) transportation!

Work

I am currently employed at the University of Central Florida’s Propulsion and Energy Research Laboratory (PERL) On their Mach 10 Oblique Detonation (MXOD) Hypersonic Flight Experiment as an Electronics Researcher developing data acquisition and telemetry systems.
